He disappeared from his Trout Lake residence the night before, claiming he would be spending the night in the forest and then returning in the morning. His vehicle was later located near the Pacific Crest Trail in neighboring Skamania County.

(AP) — The Skamania County sheriff's office says the search continues Tuesday for a mushroom picker who went missing over the weekend in a brushy area of the county in southwest Washington. Sixty-year-old Gail Wietrick of Trout Lake disappeared Saturday afternoon, but the people she was with tried to find her on their own and didn't notify authorities until Sunday afternoon.
