Circumstances: Per law enforcement - On May 29, 1976, Jana Coonan along with three others departed from Plymouth Harbor, Plymouth, Massachusetts on a small boat. The boat was recovered in the ocean off Duxbury, Massachusetts on May 30, 1976. On October 25, 1976, a skull with a remaining tooth was found by a fisshing vessel at sea off of Marshfield, Massachusetts. We have been unable to make a positive identification of these remains. A second body,identified as Daniel R. Kwiatkowski, one of the four who left Plymouth Harbor with Ms. Coonan was found by another fishing vessel on the same date. A 2012 State Police case number was created due to there not being a 1976 case number and for NamUs activation.
